Lidingö is an island in the archipelago of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, situated north-east of central Stockholm.

Lidingö offers many opportunities. On the island you can stroll in nature reserves, swim in the sea, play golf, go skiing and much more. Lidingö as a starting point offers relaxation in natural surroundings, with the pulse of the city and the rich cultural life within easy reach.

Lidingö has a long history. Fields with graves from the ice age and inscriptions from the Viking period suggest, that the island has been inhabited since the year 600.

In 1800, Lidingö got his first bridge to the mainland, so that from the beginning of the rural area, a modern residential area with currently about 44.000 (Stand October 2010) inhabitants.
